What does the Text Case Converter do?

Retyping a heading because caps lock was on, or turning a list of labels into variable names, is slow and error-prone. This text case converter rewrites your text in the case you need: everyday formats like uppercase, lowercase, title case and sentence case, plus the camelCase, PascalCase, kebab-case and snake_case styles used in code, file names and URLs.

How to use the Text Case Converter

  1. Paste or type your text into the input box.
  2. Choose a case. The converted text appears straight away in the output box.
  3. Copy the result to your clipboard or download it as a .txt file.

Frequently asked questions

How does title case handle small words?

Short articles, conjunctions and prepositions such as “a”, “and”, “of” and “the” stay lowercase unless they start or end the title. This follows common headline style guides; check your publication’s style guide for edge cases.

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

Both join words without spaces and capitalise each word. camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (myVariableName), while PascalCase capitalises the first word too (MyVariableName).

Will sentence case keep proper nouns capitalised?

Sentence case capitalises the first letter of each sentence and the word “I”, and lowercases everything else. Names and brands will need a quick manual check afterwards.

Does it work with accented and non-English letters?

Yes. The converter uses Unicode-aware rules, so letters such as é, ß or ж are handled correctly in upper and lower case.
